 About Our Practice

Relational Creatures Psychotherapy is a group psychotherapy practice where we take a relational approach to therapy, meaning the ‘vibe’ or report you have with the therapist is foundational to all the work. Life can be tough sometimes, we all need a comfortable space to be seen, heard, and have our experiences acknowledged.

Each session blends supportive reflection and insight with practical strategies for growth, always with a personalized approach.

We incorporate a variety of therapeutic modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and EMDR. Attachment theory, polyvagal theory, interpersonal neurobiology, and neuroplasticity inform our approach. Our therapists are master’s educated, licensed social workers.

While we utilize evidence-based approaches, we also know that therapy is an art. Each client will need an individualized approach. We collaborate with our clients to agree on the best strategies for healing and growth.

From your initial consultation onward, we want to know YOUR goals for therapy. Sometimes it’s easy to name your goals, other times we may need to spend time working through that together. Therapy can be hard work, it can also be a way towards realizing an authentic life. A life that feels ‘right’ for you.

If you are looking to heal and grow, we want you to be matched with the best therapist for you, so we take a little time to get to know you during our intake process, including a complementary consultation call.

We accept clients ranging from pre-teens to adults and offer both in-person and online therapy sessions.

Compassionate and Capable Therapists

Seeking help takes a lot of courage, especially if you’ve been trying to cope on your own, sometimes for years. What’s more, finding the right therapist can be confusing and stressful.

Clients often come to therapy after feeling like they have been stuck in unhelpful patterns for too long. They’ve tried to navigate tough times on their own but haven’t felt like they have made progress, the patterns keep happening, or they aren’t getting to the root of the problem.

Our practice offers a comfortable space to share experiences and emotions with the support of a neutral person. Our therapists are skilled and trained in evidence-based modalities that are proven to help.

Creative and Curious Therapy

Our therapists create a secure space for you to feel and heal. When you feel comfortable, heard, and understood, you can start to problem solve. Your therapist will help you think creatively, bringing your attention to perspectives and solutions you perhaps haven’t yet had the time and space to consider.

We know our clients are each interesting, complex individuals with unique stories. One of the best parts of investing in therapy is the chance to give voice to your story. Our therapists are trained to ask the right questions to help you write a narrative that resonates with you. Having a coherent narrative can help improve the way you relate to your past, interact with the present, and plan for the future.

This growth and transformation is rewarding, but it’s not usually easy. If we work together, we’ll help you find your way through the tough stuff with empathy and understanding.

Who We Work With

Therapy for Adults

How would you feel if you had the space to explore your emotions or a way to make sense of your past experiences? What would it look like if you developed new skills to better communicate with your loved ones, coping strategies to feel empowered in stressful situations, or even a way to feel balanced & at ease to show up as your ‘best’ self?

When we work with you, we are focused on listening to your story, and helping you clarify your values and achieve your goals.

Living a full life means going through peaks and valleys. Therapy can offer the support and tools you need to grow, heal, and evolve.

Therapy for Pre-teens & Teens

Our practice dedicates a special space for young people, ranging from pre-teens & tweens, teens and young adults. From middle school and high school, to the transitions to college and the ‘real world.’

These are times of major growth and life transitions, and bring a unique set of challenges and opportunities. We want you to have a space to feel heard and express yourself without fear of judgement or conflict.

Therapy can offer space to learn about yourself, and develop skills and perspective to support personal growth, social relationships, and family dynamics.
